ICOS Cities/PAUL deliverable 4.1 on data streams provides an overview of the observational data and a first set of associated metadata (e.g. instruments, PI, …) that are being collected at the three pilot cities of the project Munich, Paris and Zurich. After recalling the definition of the data level as defined in ICOS, it explains the main principle of data ingestion, upload, versioning, DOI minting and data licence (with links to further documents at the ICOS carbon portal) proposed in PAUL thus far. A decision flowchart describes the data ingestion scheme and workflow for the data processing depending on the type of data to be treated (fig1, p 10). For each physical parameter measured, the document lists the associated instrument, auxiliary parameters, responsible PI, file format and sizes, together with some first indication on actual data treatment. The document ends with a section on first considerations for model data (eg inventories, ancillary data) ingestion pipelines that will be further described in another document during summer 2023.
